Bijou Community Park is known primarily for it's world class disc golf course, which is home to nationally recognized tournaments every year. It doesn't end with disc golf, however. The park combines the many options listed above with a great layout to form one of the few popular Summer spots off of Lake Tahoe.
The 27 hole championship disc course features three pin placements per hole winding through forest, meadow and desert scrub terrain. Depending on the winter, the spring can feature some outstanding water holes. Natural wildflowers spring up in early summer, but not to the extent they do at Kirkwood.
During the summer, there is a snack bar/restaurant sometimes open adjacent to the skate park. Helmets are required at the skate park. In July of 200, a dog park is slated to open near the south entrance.
Gazebos can be reserved through the City of South Lake Tahoe Parks and Recreation Department (530) 542-6056.
Directions-Bijou Park is located at the corner of Johnson Blvd. and Al Tahoe Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe. The entrance is off of Al Tahoe Boulevard, thats really all you need to know.
